🏛️ Political.

The week featured intensified alignment around the UN-led political roadmap. EU Envoy Orlando publicly encouraged the Tebu to engage under UN supervision, signalling an inclusion-first approach to reduce marginalisation risks and broaden legitimacy (LANA). The High Council of State (HCS) is formally studying the UN roadmap, while Al Lafi of the Presidential Council and the EU Ambassador jointly emphasized support for the UN track and the need to avoid unilateral initiatives messages echoed across multiple outlets, indicating coordinated signalling (Al Wasat; Al Saaa24; Ean Libya; LANA; LANA). Parallel outreach by the Head of the EU Delegation to members of the Constituent Assembly underscored a commitment to continued coordination and in‑depth dialogue on the constitutional file (Al Watan;). At the same time, the HCS engaged the Libyan Political Coalition on the roadmap (Al Menassa), while a note of uncertainty emerged as CDA member Omran claimed UNSMIL has withdrawn support for the current constitution draft a development that, if confirmed, would shift sequencing toward an interim framework and complicate timelines for elections (Al Saaa24). Overall, the narrative points to broadening buy‑in for the UN process, tempered by constitutional ambiguities that could affect legal grounding and milestones.
